31. Under All the Hats of Quality —- from a round table discussion among teachers, students, quality experts, policy makers…Peter Purg, Potokar Urša B., 2016, znanstveni film, znanstvena zvočna ali video publikacija Opis: This 54-minute full feature documentary and research film features, in a unique intermedia manner, the findings of a
round table, conceived and moderated by dr. pETER Purg; at the "Quality of University Teaching and Learning" international conference, Brdo pri Kranju in April 6, 2016. This video (directed and shot by P. Purg, and edited by Urša .B. Potokar) presents the issues emerging from a round table discussion among teachers, students, quality experts and policy makers from different disciplines and countries.
As a "mixed media publication", It links in with an academic article (to be) published after the conference by P. Purg, discussing the selected utterances as evidence of emerging topics in academic quality, set against a broader theoretical and policy-related argumentation. Such a mixed-media multi-layered interplay of theory and practice, between text and video, may prove that an open discussion, paired with (audio-visual) self-reflection can both articulate and confirm some crucial commitments for increasing the quality of teaching and learning.
The round-table participants mostly agreed academic quality is dependent on teaching and learning quality, while academic practice is moving towards student autonomy and agency. For that both the national and the institutional legislative framework should provide a suitable scaffolding, facilitating better progression through education stages and sustainable student-to-teacher ratios. Good contact with the employment sector remains a key challenge that affects education quality, confirming the need for a wider participation of all higher education stakeholders. 32. Expectations in Responsive SpacePeter Purg, 2013, znanstveni film, znanstvena zvočna ali video publikacija Opis: These responses by the students and mentors were gathered at the "FOReCAST" (Responsive Art in Public Space) workshop at the Graz University of Technology, Institute of Contemporary Art, Graz (Austria) 2014, conducted within the ADRIART.net project.
The guiding questions were:
- "What do you expect from this workshop?" asked on the first day of the face2face stage (May 6) after a 3-week online collaboration phase; and
- "What was the most important thing that happened to you at this workshop?" asked at the last day (May 16).
Interviewed, shot and edited by pETER Purg, May 2014.
Shot in HD with ActionPro SD20F minicam.
This video is part of a large-scale collective methodology reflection of the teachers involved in several "mobilities" (workshops across the region) of the ADRIART project, "Advancing Digitally Renewed Interactions in Art Teaching".

33. Empirical Research: How to Improve Reception of Classical PoetryZoran Božič, 2015, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: An empirical study of understanding The Baptism at the Savica showed that Slovenian high school students had notable difficulties in decoding the basic meanings of Prešeren’s poem. In literature, didactics offer three methods of facilitating
reception of complex classical poetry: linguistic modernisation, addition of notes,and transmission into prose. Due to the cult status of Prešeren’s poetry, modernizations can only be limited, while commenting hinders a spontaneous reading experience;
as a result, only prosification entirely solves the problems of pronounced archaization, inverted word order and abundant metaphors in Prešeren’s lines.This was confirmed by an empirical study in which high school students, who read the prozification together with the verses from The Baptism at the Savica, attested
a comprehension which was twice as good as comprehension of students who only read the poetry. Ključne besede: empirical research, reception, France Prešeren, The Baptism at the

34. AugerNext: R&D studies at the Pierre Auger Observatory for a next generation ground-based ultra-high energy cosmic-ray experimentAndreas Haungs, Andrej Filipčič, Gašper Kukec Mezek, Ahmed Saleh, Samo Stanič, Marta Trini, Darko Veberič, Serguei Vorobiov, Lili Yang, Danilo Zavrtanik, Marko Zavrtanik, 2015, objavljeni znanstveni prispevek na konferenci Opis: The findings so far of the Pierre Auger Observatory and those
of the Telescope Array define some requirements for a possible
next generation global cosmic ray observatory: it needs to be
considerably increased in size, it needs enhanced sensitivity
to composition, and it has to cover the full sky. At the Pierre
Auger Observatory, AugerNext aims to conduct some innovative
initial research studies on a design of a sophisticated hybrid
detector fulfilling these demands. Within a European supported
ASPERA/APPEC (Astroparticle Physics European Consortium)
project for the years 2011-2014, such R&D studies primarily
focused on the following areas: i) consolidation of the
detection of cosmic rays using MHz radio antennas; ii) proof-
of-principle of cosmic ray microwave detection; iii) test of
the large-scale application of new generation photo sensors;
iv) generalization of data communication techniques; and v)
development of new schemes for muon detection with surface
arrays. The AugerNext Consortium consists of 14 principal
investigators from 9 countries. This contribution summarizes
some achievements of the R&D studies within the AugerNext
project. Ključne besede: ultra-high energy cosmic-ray experiments, Pierre Auger Observatory, Telescope Array, AugerNext research and development study Objavljeno v RUNG: 03.03.2016; Ogledov: 4954; Prenosov: 198 Celotno besedilo (594,23 KB) |
