Opis: Despite public’s growing concerns for human health and environmental pollution, synthetic fungicides are still preferred and massively used for the protection of agricultural crop plants against fungal diseases. However, more and more research is focused on finding potential alternatives in the form of effective biological control agents. Although there are reports of yeast’s biocontrol activity, they are up to date poorly commercialized for such purposes.
As the yeasts represent an important part of the grape microflora, competing with other microorganisms (including pathogens) for nutrients and space, we decided to examine the potential of autochthonous yeasts as "green" alternatives in fighting against phytopathogens such as Botrytis cinerea in viticulture. With this aim we tested biocontrol activity of various strains / species of indigenous wine yeasts that were isolated from the vineyard environment in Slovenia and cross-border Italy. The yeasts were tested for the presence of siderophores, hydrolytic enzymes (chitinase, β-glucosidase and β-glucanase) and sensitivity to fungicides (copper, iprodion, cyprodinil + fludioxonil combination). The tests of phytopathogenic fungi growth inhibition in the presence of antagonistic yeast were also performed. The double Petri dish test was used to verify the inhibition of conidia germination by the formation of antifungal volatile organic compounds (VOC), synthetized by the antagonistic yeasts. The presence of hydrolytic enzymes was confirmed in many wine yeasts, particularly in the strains of Hanseniaspora uvarum and Metschnikowia pulcherrima species and in some strains of the Pichia genus. Using a medium, based on natural diluted grape juice in a double Petri dish test, we found that yeasts of the Debaryomyces hansenii, Lachancea thermotolerans, P. kudriavzevii, Saccharomyces kudriavzevii, S. cerevisiae and Torulaspora delbrueckii species were able to inhibit the germination of fungal conidia at the expense of the VOC formation. However, none of the up to date tested yeasts formed siderophores. On the other hand, the yeasts were generally resistant to the tested fungicide concentrations, thus they could be used as potential biofungicides in the combination with chemical fungicides.

Opis: Prispevek utemeljuje neustavnost nekaterih členov Zakona o določitvi volilnih okrajev in Takona o volitvah poslancev v Državni zbor. Pri tem izpostavlja problem neuresničenega ustavnega določila, da "imajo volivci odločilen vpliv na dodalitev mandatov kandidatom". V resnici četrtina volilnih okrajev nima izvoljenega poslanca, polovica poslancev pa ni dosegla najvišjega števila glasov v svojem volilnem okraju.

Opis: The need of wood for building and heating, the extensive grazing and population growth in the 18th and 19th centuries led to turning the Karst area in Slovenia into a bare land. In the 19th century organised reforestation started which was successfully performed with Black pine (Pinus nigra J. F. Arnold). Later on, the reforestation was replaced by the process of spontaneous afforestation. The successfulness of reforestation with Black pine also made it possible for the native tree species to grow. The abandoning of the use of agricultural land also contributes to the spontaneous afforestation. In this project we determined the changes in forest cover through time. We used aerial photographs from the years 1957, 1975, 1985 and 2015. By drawing polygons on the maps in the QGIS programme on the areas that are covered with forests, are overgrown or are used for agricultural purpose we compared the areas from the maps of different years. We found out that the area covered with forest had increased by more than 50 % from the year 1957 to 2015. The increase in the area of forest cover due to afforestation provides new habitats for fauna and flora to live in.

The dominant and non-dominant hand movement in Slovenian Sign Language locative constructionsMatic Pavlič

Opis: In sign languages, signers habitually encode the relations between locative arguments with a complex predicate consisting of several independent morphemes, as shown by Pfau and Aboh (2012) for Sign Language of the Netherlands. In this study, I discuss the direction and composition of locative movement in Slovenian Sign Language (SZJ), distinguishing it from the movement of non-locative predicates in this language. This distinction gives support to the original distinction between agreeing and spatially agreeing predicates that was first suggested for American Sign Language (ASL) by Padden (1983).

Opis: The field of word order (WO) research in oral languages was opened with Greenberg (1963), who discovered that possible WOs are not evenly distributed in his sample of 30 languages. Linguists have ever since struggled to find out how do prevalent WOs emerge in the human brain (for the overview see Kemmerer 2012), how they are derived (for the overview see Dryer and Haspelmath 2013) and acquired (for the overview see Franck et al. 2013). According to Generative Grammar, basic WO is an output of the Head parameter (Chomsky 1981) and the Binarity principle (Kayne 1984). It reflects most transparently in the pragmatically unmarked surface order of subject, object and verb. The research on WO in sign languages (for the overview see Leeson and Saeed 2012) focused on exceptions, that may be triggered by modality specific factors: spacial verb-argument agreement, semantic
reversibility and iconicity. In this paper I provide the first description of Slovenian Sign Language (SZJ) arguing that its basic WO is SVO. I examine overt agreement and semantic reversibility and conclude, that these phenomena do not affect WO in SZJ. In the second part, I discuss non-basic SZJ WO that appears in role-shifting and classffer constructions due to the presence of verb-incorporated object classffers. All examples are from SZJ, elicited from L1 SZJ signers by Picture Description Task (see Volterra et al. 1984).

Opis: Glagoli slovenskega znakovnega jezika, ki oddajo tri udeleženske vloge, lahko izrazijo ujemanje le z dvema argumentoma. Ujemalna shema teh glagolov se razlikuje glede na to, ali je nepremi predmet obvezen ali neobvezen del njihove argumentne strukture. Gibanje glagolov z obveznim nepremim predmetom se začenja v kretalnem prostoru osebka in končuje v kretalnem prostoru nepremega predmeta – s čimer je izraženo ujemanje s tema dvema argumentoma. Gibanje glagolov z neobveznim nepremim predmetom se začne v kretalnem prostoru osebka in konča v kretalnem prostoru premega predmeta – s čimer je izraženo ujemanje, ki je sicer značilno za prehodne glagole.
