Prospects for Strongly Lensed Supernovae Behind Hubble FrontierFields Galaxy Clusters with the James Webb Space TelescopeTanja Petrushevska, 2018, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Measuring time delays from strongly lensed supernovae (SNe) is emerging as a novel andindependent tool for estimating the Hubble constant (H0). This is very important given the recent discordin the value of H0) from two methods that probe different distance ranges. The success of this techniquewill rely of our ability to discover strongly lensed SNe with measurable time delays. Here, we present themagnifications and the time delay s for the multiply-imaged galaxies behind the Hubble Frontier Fields(HFF) galaxy clusters, by using recently published lensing models. Continuing on our previous work donefor Abell 1689 (A1689) and Abell 370, we also show the prospects of observing strongly lensed SNe behindthe HFF clusters with the upcoming James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). With four 1-hour visits inone year, the summed expectations of all six HFF clusters are ∼0 .5 core-collapse (CC) SNe and 0.06Type Ia SNe (SNe Ia) in F115W band, while with F150W the expectations are higher, ∼0.9 CC SNeand ∼0.06 SNe Ia. These estimates match those expected by only surveying A1689, proving that theperformance of A1689 as gravitational telescope is superior. In the five HFF clusters presented here, wefind that F150W will be able to detect SNe Ia (SNe IIP) exploding in 93 (80) pairs multiply-imaged galaxieswith time delays of less than 5 years. La animación a la lectura y la literatura infantil y juvenil a través de proyectos de fomento a la lectura : el caso de EsloveniaBarbara Pregelj, Marjana Šifrar Kalan, 2018, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: La literatura infantil y juvenil (LIJ) posee un gran potencial de fomento a la lectura tanto en la lengua ma-terna como en la extranjera, aunque su uso en las clases de ELE es escaso, si bien necesario. En este trabajo presentamos algunos proyectos basados en las estrategias de animación a la lectura de Montserrat Sarto (1998). Los proyectos se han llevado a cabo entre los jóvenes eslovenos tanto en su lengua materna como en las clases de ELE. Mientras que las estrategias de animación a la lectura, fundamentadas en el construc-tivismo, hacen posible la experiencia personal de la lectura y aumentan la competencia lectora y literaria tanto en lengua materna como en lengua extranjera, el uso de la LIJ en las clases de ELE aumenta el grado de autenticidad del contacto con la literatura escrita en español. Представят се резултатите от експериментално проучване, включващо 49 участници, за които българският език е роден. То изследва ролята
на структурната дистанция между съгласуващите се категории в
рамките на именните конституенти, съдържащи числително. Разработката е продължение на изследователската програма
на Статева и Степанов (Stateva, Stepanov 2016), включваща корпусно изследване, в което се твърди, че структурното, а
не линейното разстояние влияе върху съотношението на грешките
при употребата на бройната форма. Въпреки че корпусното изследване установи като ясна отличителна черта ролята на структурното разстояние, текущият психолингвистичен експеримент не повтаря тези резултати. Предлагаме обяснение на резултатите, което взема предвид изчислителна сложност, натоварването на

Recombinant nanobodies as cheap and customizable reagents for unicellular algae detectionElisa Mazzega, Ario De Marco, Marina Cabrini, Alfred Beran, objavljeni povzetek znanstvenega prispevka na konferenci Opis: At the present, the identification of planktonic species in coastal water mainly relies on light microscopy
observations. This kind of analyses is performed by highly trained personnel, requires lab equipment and long
processing time. High-throughput and easy-to-perform methods are instead highly needed for routine costal and
ballast water monitoring.
Immuno-reagents are widely employed in the medical field for routine diagnostics, where they provide the necessary
sensitivity and specificity, as for example for cancer subtype characterization. Reagents of similar grade are so far not
widely available for both diagnostics and basic research of microalgae. We describe the first successful isolation of a
single-domain antibody (nanobody or VHH) from a pre-immune library, its engineering into application-ready
reagents, and its inexpensive production as recombinant fusion protein.
Alexandrium minutum was chosen as a model organism to test the feasibility of the procedure. The procedure foresees
the panning of a pre-immune phage library of VHHs that was used for in vitro selection against directly the target cells.
Monoclonal nanobodies specific for A. minutum cells were identified and optimized for recombinant production as
fusion with fluorescent proteins in bacterial hosts. Such fluorescently-tagged VHHs were validated by
immunofluorescence and cytofluorimetry for their selectivity by testing unicellular algal species that can be found in
the same environment of A. minutum. Two nanobodies were found to be highly specific for the target cells, were able
to bind also cysts of A. minutum and they gave no cross-reaction, even for a not-toxic strain of the closely related A.
tamutum.
Different tags can be then fused to the selected nanobodies and used instead of the fluorescent proteins to obtain a
reagent immediately applicable to further techniques, such as cell Enzyme Linked Immuno Sorbent Assay (ELISA) or
biosensor surface functionalization. The newly produced reagents can be applied for direct whole-cell detection in
seawater, bypassing the need of cell processing required for DNA or RNA diagnostics, and can be used for both alive
and fixed cells, guaranteeing the possibility to check old samples and to perform confirmatory morphological studies.
