Informacije o interdisciplinarnem angažiranju in integraciji znanja so bile pridobljene preko polstrukturiranih intervjujev z vodijo znanstvenega projekta.

Naslov:Interdisciplinarity in environmental research: an analysis of borrowing practices and knowledge integration processes within the Slovene academic community
Opis:The aim of the research reported in this thesis was to analyze scientific projects, classified as "environmental", which have received funds from the Slovenian Research Agency in order to identify types of interdisciplinary engagement, mapping out knowledge integration and borrowing practices. General Information about scientific projects was obtained with a bibliographic search into SICRIS, the Slovenian Current Research Information System, while specific information concerning research collaborations and knowledge integration practices was obtained through semi-structured interviews administered to those participating in, and / or, leading scientific projects. Slovenian researchers are eager to work, cooperate and collaborate with researchers from different disciplines other than their own. One of the prerequisites for cross disciplinary research is collaboration. Collaboration is possible if there is connection between different institutions and researchers. This thesis demonstrates that most collaborations go through the University of Ljubljana and the Jožef Stefan Institute. A trend in the research of environmental issues can be observed where the most prominent is water pollution (27%), soil pollution (18%) and forestry related issues (13%). It was observed that over the period of interest (2006-2011) mono- disciplinary projects were slightly increased, while trans-disciplinary projects were slightly decreased. On the other hand, multidisciplinary projects appear to be constant. Interdisciplinary projects were also present almost in every year observed, but the number of projects been undertaken by this approach varies over the years.
