A novel multi-functional thiophene-based organic cation as passivation, crystalline orientation, and organic spacer agent for low-dimensional 3D/1D perovskite solar cells

Opis: Recently, the mixed-dimensional (3D/2D or 3D/1D) perovskite solar cellsusing small organic spacers have attracted interest due to their outstandinglong-term stability. Here, a new type of thiophene-based organic cation2-(thiophene-2yl-)pyridine-1-ium iodide (ThPyI), which is used to fabricatemixed-dimensional 3D/1D perovskite solar cells, is presented. TheThPyI-based 1D perovskitoid is applied as a passivator on top of a 3D methylammonium lead iodide (MAPI) to fabricate surface-passivated 3D/1Dperovskite films or added alone into the 3D perovskite precursor to generatebulk-passivated 3D MAPI. The 1D perovskitoid acts as a passivating agent atthe grain boundaries of surface-passivated 3D/1D, which improves the powerconversion efficiency (PCE) of the solar cells. Grazing incidence wide-angleX-ray scattering (GIWAXS) studies confirm that ThPyI triggers the preferentialorientation of the bulk MAPI slabs, which is essential to enhance chargetransport. Champion bulk-passivated 3D and surface-passivated 3D/1Ddevices yield 14.10% and 19.60% PCE, respectively. The bulk-passivated 3Doffers favorable stability, with 84% PCE retained after 2000 h withoutencapsulation. This study brings a new perspective to the design of organicspacers having a different binding motif and a passivation strategy to mitigatethe impact of defects in hybrid 3D/1D perovskite solar cells.A. Measurement of the cosmic ray spectrum with the Pierre Auger Observatory

Opis: The flux of ultra-high energy cosmic rays above 3×10[sup]17 eV has been measured with unprecedented precision at the Pierre Auger Observatory. The flux of the cosmic rays is determined by four different measurements. The surface detector array provides three data sets, two formed by dividing the data into two zenith angle ranges, and one obtained from a nested, denser detector array. The fourth measurement is obtained with the fluorescence detector. By combining all four data sets, the all-sky flux of cosmic rays is determined. The spectral features are discussed in detail and systematic uncertainties are addressed.

Opis: V diplomskem delu se osredotočam na analizo naslednjih literarnih del Janje Vidmar: Punce za znoret, Hiša groze, Kdo je ubil Emilijo K.?, Bučko Superga, Princeska z napako, Angie, Brez, Pink, Ameriški prijatelj, Blues za Saro, Fantje iz gline, Debeluška, Vrtiljak čudežev, Uspavanka za mladega očka, Potovanje groze in Tretja možnost. Na začetku na podlagi teorij Mirana Hladnika, Marka Juvana, Alojzije Zupan Sosič, Barbare Pregelj in Jožice Jožef Beg, predstavim pojme kanonizirana in trivialna literatura ter žanrski sinkretizem, se posvetim pojmu realizem v sodobni slovenski mladinski književnosti in nakažem smer žanrskosti v delih Janje Vidmar. Sledi predstavitev avtorice in njenega literarnega ustvarjanja ter opis pripovednih elementov (protagonist, čas/prostor, pripovedovalec, fokalizacija). V osrednjem delu analiziram besedila Janje Vidmar v povezavi z žanrskostjo in na podlagi te analize ugotovim, da gre pri njih za prepletanje različnih žanrov (žanrski sinkretizem).

Fibroblast involvement in soft connective tissue calcification

Opis: Soft connective tissue calcification is not a passive process, but the consequence of metabolic changes of local mesenchymal cells that, depending on both genetic and environmental factors, alter the balance between pro- and anti-calcifying pathways. While the role of smooth muscle cells and pericytes in ectopic calcifications has been widely investigated, the involvement of fibroblasts is still elusive. Fibroblasts isolated from the dermis of pseudoxanthoma elasticum (PXE) patients and of patients exhibiting PXE-like clinical and histopathological findings offer an attractive model to investigate the mechanisms leading to the precipitation of mineral deposits within elastic fibers and to explore the influence of the genetic background and of the extracellular environment on fibroblast-associated calcifications, thus improving the knowledge on the role of mesenchymal cells on pathologic mineralization.
