BCK codes
Hashem Bordbar, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: In this paper, we initiate the study of the notion of the BC K -function on an arbitrary set A, and providing connections with x -functions and x -subsets for x ∈ X where X is a B C K -algebra. Moreover, using the notion of order in a B C K -algebra, the BCK-code C is introduced and besides a new structure of order in C is investigated. Finally, we show that the structure of the B C K -algebra X and the B C K -code C which is generated by X , with their related orders are the same.

N-subalgebras of BCK=BCI-algebras which are induced from hyperfuzzy structures
Hashem Bordbar, Mohammad Rahim Bordbar, Rajab Ali Borzooei, Young Bae Jun, 2021, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: In the paper [J. Ghosh and T.K. Samanta, Hyperfuzzy sets and hyperfuzzy group, Int. J. Advanced Sci Tech. 41 (2012), 27–37], Ghosh and Samanta introduced the concept of hyperfuzzy sets as a generalization of fuzzy sets and interval-valued fuzzy sets and applied it to group theory. The aim of this manuscript is to study N-structures in BCK\BCI-algebras induced from hyperfuzzy structures.

Interplay among Work Function, electronic structure and stoichiometry in nanostructured VOx films
2020, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: The work function is the parameter of greatest interest in many technological applications involving charge exchange mechanisms at the interface. The possibility to produce samples with a controlled work function is then particularly interesting, albeit challenging. We synthetized nanostructured vanadium oxide films by a room temperature Supersonic Cluster Beam Deposition method, obtaining samples with tunable stoichiometry and work function (3.7-7 eV). We present an investigation of the electronic structure of several vanadium oxide films as a function of the oxygen content via in-situ Auger, valence-band photoemission spectroscopy and work function measurements. The experiments probed the partial 3d density of states, highlighting the presence of strong V3d-O2p and V3d-V4s hybridization which influence 3d occupation. We show how controlling the stoichiometry of the sample implies control over work function, and that the access to nanoscale quantum confinement can be exploited to increase the work function of the sample relative to the bulk analogue. In general, the knowledge of the interplay among work function, electronic structure, and stoichiometry is strategic to match nanostructured oxides to their target applications

Do children use language structure to discover the recursive rules of counting?
Rose M. Schneider, Jessica Sullivan, Franc Marušič, Rok Žaucer, Priyanka Biswas, Petra Mišmaš, Vesna Plesničar, David Barner, 2020, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: We test the hypothesis that children acquire knowledge of the successor function — a foundational principle stating that every natural number n has a successor n + 1 — by learning the productive linguistic rules that govern verbal counting. Previous studies report that speakers of languages with less complex count list morphology have greater counting and mathematical knowledge at earlier ages in comparison to speakers of more complex languages (e.g., Miller & Stigler, 1987). Here, we tested whether differences in count list transparency affected children’s acquisition of the successor function in three languages with relatively transparent count lists (Cantonese, Slovenian, and English) and two languages with relatively opaque count lists (Hindi and Gujarati). We measured 3.5- to 6.5-year-old children’s mastery of their count list’s recursive structure with two tasks assessing productive counting, which we then related to a measure of successor function knowledge. While the more opaque languages were associated with lower counting proficiency and successor function task performance in comparison to the more transparent languages, a unique within-language analytic approach revealed a robust relationship between measures of productive counting and successor knowledge in almost every language. We conclude that learning productive rules of counting is a critical step in acquiring knowledge of recursive successor function across languages, and that the timeline for this learning varies as a function of count list transparency.

The AMIGA Muon Counters of the Pierre Auger Observatory: Performance and Studies of the Lateral Distribution Function
Brian Wundheiler, Andrej Filipčič, Gašper Kukec Mezek, Ahmed Saleh, Samo Stanič, Marta Trini, Darko Veberič, Serguei Vorobiov, Lili Yang, Danilo Zavrtanik, Marko Zavrtanik, 2015, objavljeni znanstveni prispevek na konferenci

Opis: The AMIGA enhancement (Auger Muons and Infill for the Ground Array) of the Pierre Auger Observatory consists of a 23.5 km2 infill area where air shower particles are sampled by water- Cherenkov detectors at the surface and by 30 m2 scintillation counters buried 2.3 m underground. The Engineering Array of AMIGA, completed since February 2015, includes 37 scintillator modules (290 m2) in a hexagonal layout. In this work, the muon counting performance of the scintillation detectors is analysed over the first 20 months of operation. Parametrisations of the detector counting resolution and the lateral trigger probability are presented. Finally, preliminary results on the observed muon lateral distribution function (LDF) are discussed.
