3. Partisan ruptures : self-management, market reform and the spectre of socialist YugoslaviaGal Kirn, 2019, znanstvena monografija Opis: Yugoslavia's twentieth-century bore witness to civil war, sharp ideological struggles and a series of 'partisan ruptures'; revolutionary events that changed the face of Yugoslavian society, politics and culture, which were felt on a global level.
This book is a comprehensive historical and political analysis of the three major ruptures; the People's Liberation Struggle during World War Two, the self-management model and the Non-Aligned Movement. In order to understand what provoked and what came out of these revolutionary ruptures, Gal Kirn examines the implications of communism and socialism's productive relationship, the Yugoslavian 'experiment' of market socialism that marked the political and economic shift towards 'post-socialism' already in the 1960s, which crystallised new class coalitions that will later on - together with austerity politics - lead the way towards des-integration of Yugoslavia.
Filling a much-needed gap in English language literature, this book's interrogation of the Yugoslav socialist experiment offers insights for left projects and democratic socialist discussions today, as well as historians of Yugoslavia and revolutionary movements. Ključne besede: partisan ruptures, YUgoslav socialism, break-up, exhaustion of partisan politics, market socialism, 1965, new Yugoslavia, non-aligned movement, self-management, rise and demise of socialism, liberalism, nationalism Objavljeno v RUNG: 19.08.2020; Ogledov: 2190; Prenosov: 0 Gradivo ima več datotek! 5. When a Wh-Word Refuses to Stay in SituArtur Stepanov, Ali Al Moussaoui, 2020, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Richards (2010, 2016) suggests that a language’s choice between the wh-movement option and the wh-in-situ option is made on the basis of language-specific prosodic properties that determine whether or not a prosodic wh-domain containing both the interrogative C and the wh-phrase can be established. A wh-domain in this sense roughly corresponds to a piece of prosodic structure in which these two key elements are separated by as few prosodic boundaries as possible, ideally zero. Prosodic boundaries demarcate structural units of the sentence, known as Minor or Intermediate Phrases that may trivially or nontrivially correspond to syntactic constituents. Ključne besede: prosodic domain, Minor Phrase, wh-in-situ, wh-movement, Lebanese Arabic, French, Italian Objavljeno v RUNG: 01.04.2020; Ogledov: 2806; Prenosov: 252

6. Urban Conservation System in China and Its Improvement by Using Historic Urban Landscape ApproachChen Shujie, 2018, doktorska disertacija Opis: In the last few decades, the Modern Conservation Movement has developed from European-limited practices into a global movement with universal common views and practical measures for managing heritage resources in different cultural contexts. As an innovative idea of this movement, the Historic Urban Landscape approach aims to protect and manage historic urban environments with respect to both the fundamental principles in the international doctrines and the local social/cultural/historical contexts. It recommends local authorities to use the HUL toolkit to identify, conserve and manage the overall landscape of their historic cities.
In the case of China, who is an old civilization, a modern nation and a socialist country at the same time, the conservation practice needs to follow the basic and common conservation principles in the international doctrines, and meanwhile, it shall make its initiatives based on the actual social, cultural and political situations. The establishment of Historically and Culturally Famous City (HCF City in short) system is a positive attempt for such a purpose. The system manages various urban elements relating to the city’s historical and cultural features under a comprehensive notion of HCF City. However, the system is not prefect because it depends excessively on the top-down management of local governments, and also because it overlooks the spatial and spiritual relationships among the protected elements...
The thesis provides a big picture of architectural and urban conservation practices in China. It introduces the forming process and the characteristics of historic urban fabric, as well as the history of urban conservation. Then, it takes a deep look at the existing HCF City system, including its basic ideas, structures and mechanism. It analyses the system’s initiatives and deficiencies. Finally, it provides feasible advices to improve the current system by using the HUL toolkit. 8. The dominant and non-dominant hand movement in Slovenian Sign Language locative constructionsMatic Pavlič, 2017, objavljeni povzetek znanstvenega prispevka na konferenci Opis: In sign languages, signers habitually encode the relations between locative arguments with a complex predicate consisting of several independent morphemes, as shown by Pfau and Aboh (2012) for Sign Language of the Netherlands. In this study, I discuss the direction and composition of locative movement in Slovenian Sign Language (SZJ), distinguishing it from the movement of non-locative predicates in this language. This distinction gives support to the original distinction between agreeing and spatially agreeing predicates that was first suggested for American Sign Language (ASL) by Padden (1983). 10. Multiple and Short Wh-Movement as Wh-Movement to the PeripheriesPetra Mišmaš, 2016, objavljeni povzetek znanstvenega prispevka na konferenci Opis: In the talk I use Slovenian to explore the parallel behaviour of questions with multiple whmovement and questions with short movement (i.e. wh-questions in which at least one wh-phrase moves to the clause initial position but one moves to a clause internal position, cf. Citko (2010)). Based on the similarities, I argue that in both cases wh-phrases undergo wh-movement to a ‘Periphery’ – short wh-movement to the Low Periphery in the sense of Belletti (2004), and multiple wh-movement to the Left Periphery in the sense of Rizzi (1997).
