12. IDENTITY AND MULTIPLICITY IN CANETTI'S AND WAGENSTEIN'S BIRTHPLACES : EXPLORING THE RHIZOMATIC ROOTS OF EUROPEGiustina Selvelli, 2017, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The aim of this article is to present some commonalities between the works of two writers who share the same Bulgarian and Jewish origin: Elias Canetti (1905–1994) and Angel Wagenstein (1922–). Both writers can be considered as highly multicultural personalities: they both came from Sephardic Jewish backgrounds, and were influenced and fascinated by different cultural worlds such as the Bulgarian one, the Jewish one, the Central- European one, and even more.
This paper will explore the contribution of their birthplaces, respectively, Rustschuk (today, Ruse) and Plovdiv, to the development of what I will define as a particular kind of sensibility for multiplicity which was central to their subsequent cultural and social undertakings.

Editorial: Scalar ImplicaturesAnne Reboul, Penka Stateva, 2019, kratki znanstveni prispevek Opis: In 1975, Grice introduced the notion of implicature, arguing that it was more appropriate to account for a class of apparent lexical ambiguities through pragmatic processes than by multiplying lexical meanings (Modified Ockham's razor: Do not multiply meanings beyond necessity; Grice, 1975). For the past 20 years, experimental approaches have superseded purely theoretical ones, with mixed results. Paradigms using verification tasks on infelicitous sentences, with rate of pragmatic answers and reaction time as measures, have generally concluded in favor of the post-Gricean views (Bott and Noveck, 2004; Noveck and Reboul, 2008). However, some recent studies discuss additional factors affecting implicature processing and have introduced new paradigms which suggest a different conclusion (Katsos and Bishop, 2011; Breheny et al., 2013; Degen and Tanenhaus, 2015; Foppolo and Marelli, 2017; Bill et al.; Jasbi et al.; Sikos et al.). In addition, current research has shown that lexical scales may play a role in the process in keeping with neo-Gricean views. This Frontiers topic is a collection of 12 contributions in experimental pragmatics focusing on different aspects of child and adult processing of implicatures, factors affecting their rate, relevance of testing paradigms, scale diversity, cross-linguistic differences, and variation in triggers.

14. Transmedia Adaptation : A Dialogue of Genres and Communication MediaNarvika Bovcon, Aleš Vaupotič, 2018, samostojni znanstveni sestavek ali poglavje v monografski publikaciji Opis: This essay is composed of two parts. The first chapter reflects on the genesis of film language, and in this context, considers the reception of Dickens’ works. Next the text turns to borderline cases of adaptation: genre/media hybrid, deep remixability, and allusion. The notions of genre and media are considered as only quantitatively different, not qualitatively, both instances of discourses and apparatuses considered by the theory of discourse (Bakhtin, Foucault etc.). The second part of the text presents an artistic inquiry—concepts and ideas used in production of artworks by the authors of this essay—that sheds light on the possible methods of studying adaptations. Two aspects are foregrounded: the ideas of the transformation of the source text into an archive of fragments that are subsequently put in new meaningful constellations, and the use of Shakespeare’s works in the role of a mediator in the understanding of the language of new media art.

15. Post Colonial Dilettantes : The Aesthetics Of Anti-ImperialismRajat Sharma, 2018, magistrsko delo Opis: The thesis begins a discourse into a need of an Indian film theory by exploring and
analysing the plenitude of relevant western theories. In order to do so it lays down certain
concrete relationships between ideologies, terminologies and their effect; as in what
exactly post colonial means, why it is important to understand the impact of colonisation
on culture and thus on one of the most mass consumed medium in India; films. The thesis
explores the depths and complexity of the relationship of these two and the other
influences that sprout from it for example the intensity of colonisation as a cultural project
and its influence on the social reality of the people, artists, thinkers (and in our case
specifically filmmakers) , who in turn reflect on this culture through various mediums
including films. The thesis examines the western plethora of film theory in order to
accentuate the contrast between film and cinema in the west and east and thus the
subsequent need to bring forth a new ‘Eastern Film theory’.

16. EFFECT OF TIMING OF LEAF REMOVAL ON YIELD PARAMETERS, GRAPE AND WINE QUALITY OF VITIS VINIFERA L. CV. 'SAUVIGNON BLANC' Daniela MARKOVICDaniela Markovic, 2016, diplomsko delo Opis: Z odstranjevanjem listov v predelu grozdov se lahko spremeni mikroklima grozdov, ki lahko izzove spremembe v sekundarnem metabolizmu vinske trte, ki so odvisne tudi od časa izvedbe ukrepa. Uravnavanje sinteze aromatskih komponent je zanimivo pri belih sortah kot je sorta 'Sauvignon blanc', kjer so metoksipirazini in tioli tisti, ki oblikujejo značilno aromo vina te sorte.
Eksperiment diplomske naloge smo zastavili na Oslavju (Gorica, Italija) v vinogradu sorte grozdja 'Sauvignon blanc' (Vitis vinifera L.). Želeli smo preveriti vpliva odstranjevanja listov v predelu grozdja pred in po cvetenju na količino in kakovost pridelka ter aromatske lastnosti grozdja in vina.
Količinski parametri pridelka so pokazali majhne vplive izvedenih ukrepov razlistanja; pozno razlistanje na količino pridelka ni vplivalo, v nasprotju z razlistanjem pred cvetenjem, kjer smo opazili rahlo zmanjšanje pridelka po trsu in mase grozdov. Tudi pri osnovnih zrelostnih parametrih smo opazili manjše spremembe, predvsem večje vsebnosti topne suhe snovi pri razlistanju pred cvetenjem.
Pri aromatskih komponentah smo zaznali vpliv razlistanja pred cvetenjem na količino prekurzorjev tiolov tako v grozdju kot tudi vinu; večjo vsebnost 4-merkapto-4-metilpentan-2-on (4MMP) in nižje koncentracije 3-merkaptoheksan-1-ol (3MH). S poznejšim odstranjevanjem listov smo zmanjšali koncentracije 4MMP, na vsebnost 3MH ta ukrep ni vplival.
Tudi s senzorično oceno vina smo potrdili pomembne vplive razlistanja pred in po cvetenju na določene note v aromi vina 'Sauvignon blanc'.
Leaf removal changes cluster microclimate, and thus modifications in the secondary metabolism are triggered, but differently as regard to the timing of application. In case of white grape varieties, the interest on the modification of aroma characteristics is searched, and in case of 'Sauvignon blanc', the shift in concentration of methoxypyrazines and thiols is responsible for the bouquet of the wines.
An experimental trial was set up in Oslavia (Gorizia, Italy) with the aim to evaluate how pre-flowering and post-flowering leaf removal applied on 'Sauvignon blanc' vines could change the aromatic occurrence in grapes and wines.
The yield parameters were slightly affected by the treatments of leaf removal; while late leaf removal did not impact on production, pre-flowering leaf removal slightly promoted a reduction on yield and cluster weight. Also basic maturation parameters were slightly changed, mainly higher soluble solids in case of pre-flowering leaf removal.
As regard aromatics, both thiol precursors in grapes and thiols in wines revealed to be shifted in case of pre-flowering leaf removal, with higher values of 4-mercapto-4-methyl-pentan-2-one and lower values of 3-mercaptohexan-1-ol. In case of late leaf removal lower concentration of 4MMP were revealed and similar of 3MH.
Also the degustation of the wines revealed some peculiarities of pre-flowering and late leaf removal treatments for some important sensorial notes of 'Sauvignon blanc' wines.
