We present the results of the reverberation monitoring of the Mg II broad line and Fe II pseudocontinuum for the luminous quasar CTS C30.10 (z = 0.90052) with the Southern African Large Telescope in 2012–2021.
Aims. We aimed at disentangling the Mg II and UV Fe II variability and the first measurement of UV Fe II time delay for a distant quasar.
Methods. We used several methods for the time-delay measurements and determined the Fe II and Mg II time delays. We also performed a wavelength-resolved time delay study for a combination of Mg II and Fe II in the 2700–2900 Å rest-frame wavelength range.
Results. We obtain a time delay for Mg II of 275.5−19.5+12.4 days in the rest frame, and we have two possible solutions of 270.0−25.3+13.8 days and 180.3−30.0+26.6 in the rest frame for Fe II. Combining this result with the old measurement of Fe II UV time delay for NGC 5548, we discuss for first time the radius-luminosity relation for UV Fe II with the slope consistent with 0.5 within the uncertainties.
Conclusions. Because the Fe II time delay has a shorter time-delay component but the lines are narrower than Mg II, we propose that the line-delay measurement is biased toward the part of the broad line region (BLR) facing the observer. The bulk of the Fe II emission may arise from the more distant BLR region, however, the region that is shielded from the observer. 5. Digitalizacija trajnostnega turizma v Občini BrdaRobert Feri, 2022, magistrsko delo Opis: Namen magistrske naloge je analiza stanja digitalizacije v Občini Brda, s posebnim poudarkom na področju turizma, ki se v zadnjem desetletju preveša v glavno gospodarsko panogo. Poleg analize na nivoju občine smo se posebej osredotočili na Krajevno skupnost Medana, ki predstavlja največjo koncentracijo turističnih akterjev - vinarjev zasebnikov, restavracij, prenočitvenih kapacitet in ostalih ponudnikov v občini. Izsledki analize kažejo določena vlaganja občine v osnovno infrastrukturo, predvsem pa veliko specializacijo zasebne ponudbe in značilnosti kopiranja poslovnih modelov, poleg koncentracije restavracij in vinarjev z degustacijskimi in prodajnimi prostori, tudi povečevanje števila nastanitev višjega cenovnega razreda s kapacitetami sprejema do dveh družin. Zaznali smo pomanjkljivosti pri digitalnih rešitvah, kot so alternativni rezervacijski sistemi, prehodov iz fizičnega sveta v virtualnega prek QR-kod, spletnih strani in namenskih aplikacij za mobilne naprave z dostopom do podatkov, segmentiranih glede na zanimanja uporabnikov. Novoustanovljeni zavod za razvoj podeželja BUINC bo naslavljal razvoj krajevne skupnosti Medana, v tem delu predlagamo 23 projektov, ki jih bo mogoče tudi s pomočjo nepovratnih sredstev v programskem obdobju 2022 - 2027 realizirati in na ta način skrajšati dobavne verige, povečati lokalno zaposlenost, znižati negativne vplive na okolje, povečati kvaliteto bivanja lokalnega prebivalstva. Vpliv predlaganih projektov v KS Medana je ocenjen na 50-60 % znižanje stroškov za električno energijo pristopnikov k projektu samooskrbne skupnosti, zmanjšanje emisij toplogrednih plinov, 20 % povečanje števila gostov in do deset dodatnih neposrednih delovnih mest vezanih na turizem z neposrednim in posrednim učinkom na občinski proračun. spectroscopic technique that utilizes inelastic scattering of hard Xrays
to study X-ray absorption edges of low Z elements in bulk
material. It was used to identify and quantify the amount of
carbonyl bonds in a cathode sample, in order to track the redox
reaction inside metal−organic batteries during the charge/
discharge cycle. XRS was used to record the oxygen K-edge
absorption spectra of organic polymer cathodes from different
multivalent metal−organic batteries. The amount of carbonyl bond
in each sample was determined by modeling the oxygen K-edge
XRS spectra with the linear combination of two reference compounds that mimicked the fully charged and the fully discharged
phases of the battery. To interpret experimental XRS spectra, theoretical calculations of oxygen K-edge absorption spectra based on
density functional theory were performed. Overall, a good agreement between the amount of carbonyl bond present during different
stages of battery cycle, calculated from linear combination of standards, and the amount obtained from electrochemical
characterization based on measured capacity was achieved. The electrochemical mechanism in all studied batteries was confirmed to
be a reduction of double carbonyl bond and the intermediate anion was identified with the help of theoretical calculations. X-ray
Raman spectroscopy of the oxygen K-edge was shown to be a viable characterization technique for accurate tracking of the redox
