Title:Vpliv toplotne obdelave na lastnosti orodnih jekel

Abstract:Preoblikovalna orodja so izpostavljena istočasnemu delovanju termičnih, kemijskih, mehanskih in triboloških obremenitev. Kompleksna kombinacija obremenitev vodi do poškodbe orodja, kot so obraba, plastična deformacije ter utrujanje. Na splošno tip poškodbe zavisi od materiala in konstrukcije orodja, postopka preoblikovanja ter vrste preoblikovanega materiala. Največji vpliv pa ima material orodja in njegove lastnosti. Osnovna lastnost, ki okarakterizira orodje je trdota. V realnosti pa odpornost orodja zavisi od kombinacije lastnosti, kot so tlačna trdnost, upogibna trdnost, obdelovalnost in lomna žilavost. Lastnosti orodnih jekel zavisijo od njihove mikrostrukture, ki jo spreminjamo z ustrezno toplotno obdelavo. Seveda je za doseganje ustrezne kombinacije lastnosti potrebno natančno poznavanje vpliva toplotne obdelave na mikrostrukturo in lastnosti orodnih jekel. Namen diplomskega dela je določiti vpliv parametrov toplotne obdelave na mikrostrukturo in s tem na različne lastnosti orodnega jekla za delo v vročem, vključujoč trdoto, tlačno in upogibno trdnost, lomno žilavost ter obdelovalnost. V okviru diplomske naloge je bil uporabljen pristop določevanja mehanskih lastnosti z multifunkcijskim cilindričnim vzorcem z zarezo po obodu. S tem je bila omogočena direktna določitev korelacij med posameznimi lastnostmi orodnega jekla. Praktična vrednost diplomskega dela je v določitvi vpliva toplotne obdelave na različne lastnosti orodnega jekla za delo v vročem, predvsem pa v določitvi medsebojne korelacije med različnimi lastnostmi, ki omogočajo uporabnikom enostavnejšo in bolj natančno izbiro najustreznejše toplotne obdelave orodnega jekla za izbrano aplikacijo.

Title:Effect of heat treatment on the properties of tool steel
Abstract:Forming tools are subjected to simultaneous action of thermal, chemical, mechanical and tribological loads. A very complex combination of loads leads to tool damage such as wear, plastic deformation and fatigue. In general, the type of tool failure depends on the material and tool design, forming process and the type of work material. However, the biggest impact comes from the tool material and its properties. The basic property that characterizes tool is its hardness. However, in reality tool resistance depends on the combination of properties such as compressive strength, bending strength, fracture toughness and machinability. The properties of tool steels depend on their microstructure, which can be modified through adequate heat treatment. In order to achieve appropriate combination of properties precise knowledge on the effect of heat treatment on microstructure and properties of tool steels is required. The purpose of the bachelor thesis is to determine the influence of heat treatment parameters on microstructure and various properties of hot work tool steel, including compressive and bending strength, fracture toughness, hardness and machinability. In the context of this bachelor thesis determination of mechanical properties through a multi-functional circumferentially notched and fatigue pre-cracked tensile bar specimen was applied. This allowed direct determination of correlations between different tool steel properties. The practical value of the bachelor thesis lies in the determination of the effect of heat treatment on the various properties of hot work tool steel, but above all in analysing correlations between different properties. This will allow end users easier and more accurate selection of the most suitable heat treatment of tool steel for the selected application.
