Abstract:V prispevku je analiziran prvi cikel člankov Alme M. Karlin o potovanju v Južno Ameriko, ki so bili objavljeni v časopisu Cillier Zeitung od 15. februarja 1920 do 30. novembra 1921- V drugem delu članka so potopisni feljtoni Alme M. Karlin primerjani z besedili Zofke Kveder, ki pripadajo istemu žanru. Primerjava razkriva, da sta obe pisateljici dobro poznali lastnosti tega žanra, živost in komunikativnost besedil pa sta ustvarjali z vnašanjem leposlovnih pripovednih strategij v publicistično besedilo.
