Title:Zasnova sekundarnega sveta za kratki animirani film

Abstract:V diplomskem delu raziskujem smernice za zasnovo in razvoj sekundarnega sveta za umetniška dela, natančnejše za medij kratkega animiranega filma, v katerem ustvarjam tudi sam. Sekundarni svet je umetno zasnovan zgodbovni svet, razvit v podporo naši zgodbi. Delo je razvito v podporo praktičnemu delu diplomske naloge, ki je kratki animirani film z naslovom Geomancy/Zemlječarstvo. V svojem kratkem filmu prikažem zgodbo, ki govori o mojem sekundarnem svetu. V ta namen sem dokaj podrobno zasnoval sekundarni svet, da zgodba v filmu izpade prepričljivejša. Vendar pa ta sekundarni svet tekom filma ostaja v ozadju in ni neposredno predstavljen. Zato sem želel teoretični del naloge uporabiti kot priložnost, da predstavim svoje razmišljanje in raziskavo v ozadju filma. V nalogi so tako predstavljena nova znanja, ki sem jih odkril tekom izdelave, moje razmišljanje pri vpeljavi tega znanja in situacije ter problemi, s katerimi sem se soočal. Prav tako pokažem, kako je pridobljeno znanje vplivalo na končni produkt praktičnega dela diplomskega projekta in kako bi se v prihodnje lotil česa drugače, da bi si bolj poenostavil potek dela. V delu izpostavim in predstavim tudi primere sekundarnih svetov drugih ustvarjalcev, za katere menim, da dobro prikažejo določeni element zasnove sekundarnega sveta. Nazadnje se dotaknem še načinov, ki so učinkoviti za dinamično predstavljanje sekundarnih svetov in na kaj moramo biti pri tem pozorni.

Title:Building a secondary world for a short animated film
Abstract:In my diploma work I am researching the guidelines for designing and building a secondary world for works of art, specifically for the purposes of a short animated film. A secondary world is an artificially designed world in which our story is set. My thesis is developed in support of the practical part of my diploma work, which is a short animated film called Geomancy. In my short animated film I am presenting a story about my secondary world. For the purpose of making my story feel more convincing I designed an intricate secondary world. This secondary world however, exists only in the film's background and it is not directly presented in the film, therefore I wanted to take the chance to present my thoughts and decisions I made behind the scenes. In this diploma work I present what new knowledge I have gained during the making of my film as well as what kind of situations and problems I was dealing with during production. I also present how that knowledge influenced the final result and what I would do differently in future projects to make my work easier. In this work I provide concrete examples of secondary worlds from other authors, that nicely illustrate certain elements of secondary world design. Lastly I touch upon the ways in which we can dinamically present our secondary worlds and what we have to be careful of when doing so.
