21. PLATOON Kunsthalle Berlin, kot začasni eksperimentalni prostor in socialna skulptura : Eat MeatMarija Laura Potočnik, 2016, undergraduate thesis Abstract: Teoretični del diplomske naloge zajema in obravnava začasni eksperimentalni prostor PLATOON
Kunsthalle Berlin kot socialno skulpturo. Uvodno temo odprem z razlago, zakaj sem izbrala
raziskujem človeško - živalske odnose in človekovo moralno vlogo v teh odnosih ter vlečem
vzporednice med vrednotami. Inštalacija je avtobiografsko delo, intimno in subjektivno. Njen
namen je vzbuditi zavedanje in razmislek o tem, v kakšni družbi pravzaprav živimo, kakšne
posledice puščajo naša dejanja in udobje, ker oboje nam vsiljuje ignoranca industrije v svojem
brezkompromisnem boju za zaslužek. 23. NaLi-H1: A universal synthetic library of humanized nanobodies providing highly functional antibodies and intrabodiesSandrine Moutel, Nicolas Bery, Virginie Bernard, Laura Keller, Emilie Lemesre, Ario De Marco, Laetitia Ligat, Jean-Christophe Rain, Gilles Fevre, Aurelien Olichon, Franck Perez, 2016, original scientific article Abstract: In vitro selection of antibodies allows to obtain highly functional binders, rapidly and at
lower cost. Here, we describe the first fully synthetic phage display library of humanized llama
single domain antibody (NaLi-H1: Nanobody Library Humanized 1). Based on a humanized synthetic
single domain antibody (hs2dAb) scaffold optimized for intracellular stability, the highly diverse
library provides high affinity binders without animal immunization. NaLi-H1 was screened following
several selection schemes against various targets (Fluorescent proteins, actin, tubulin, p53, HP1).
Conformation antibodies against active RHO GTPase were also obtained. Selected hs2dAb were
used in various immunoassays and were often found to be functional intrabodies, enabling tracking
or inhibition of endogenous targets. Functionalization of intrabodies allowed specific protein
knockdown in living cells. Finally, direct selection against the surface of tumor cells produced
hs2dAb directed against tumor-specific antigens further highlighting the potential use of this
library for therapeutic applications. Keywords: nanobodies, synthetic phage display library, in vitro panning Published in RUNG: 17.08.2016; Views: 5230; Downloads: 243 Full text (4,32 MB) |

25. Measurement of the muon content in air showers at the Pierre Auger ObservatoryLaura Collica, Andrej Filipčič, Gašper Kukec Mezek, Ahmed Saleh, Samo Stanič, Marta Trini, Darko Veberič, Serguei Vorobiov, Lili Yang, Danilo Zavrtanik, Marko Zavrtanik, 2015, published scientific conference contribution Abstract: The muon content of extensive air showers is an
observable sensitive to the primary composition and to
the hadronic interaction properties. We present here
different methods which allow us to estimate the muon number
at the ground level and the muon production depth by
exploiting the measurement of the longitudinal, lateral and
temporal distribution of particles in air showers recorded at
the Pierre Auger Observatory. The results, obtained at about
10[sup]19 eV (E[inf]CM ∼ 140 TeV center-of-mass energy for
proton primaries), are compared to the predictions
of LHC-tuned hadronic interaction models with different primary
masses and suggest a deficit in the muon content at the
ground predicted by simulations. The Pierre Auger Observatory
uses water-Cherenkov detectors to measure particle
densities at the ground and therefore has a good
sensitivity to the muon content of air showers. Moreover, due
to its hybrid design, the combination of muon measurements with
other independent mass composition analyses such as Xmax
provides additional constraints on hadronic interaction models. Keywords: Pierre Auger Observatory, ultra-high energy cosmic rays, muons, mass composition, hadronic interactions Published in RUNG: 03.03.2016; Views: 4774; Downloads: 218 Full text (298,46 KB) |
