Simulation cases of advanced driver-assistance systems

Abstract: In the bachelor’s thesis, advanced driver-assistance systems are discussed and explained. The focus of the explanation is placed on two specific systems, the anti-lock braking system and the automatic transmission system. To provide a deeper understanding of these systems, simulations were created using the computer program. Computer simulation is explained and the types of computer simulation are discussed. Programs used for computer simulation are presented and explained. The program used for computer simulation in this bachelor’s thesis is Scicos, and the visual and interactive representation of the anti-lock braking system and the automatic transmission system is made. For the anti-lock braking system, the simulation scheme is divided into models representing various components of the system, such as the vehicle, wheel, slip, friction, and control. Each of these models interacts with one another to replicate the functioning of the anti-lock braking system. Similarly, for the automatic transmission system, the simulation scheme is divided into models representing the driver and environment, engine, transmission, vehicle, and controller. These models interact to simulate the operation of the automatic transmission system. The thesis presents the results from the simulation of these two systems to analyze the difference in using the systems in different driving scenarios. The effect of the advanced driver-assistance systems in the vehicles is also showcased.

Abstract: Abstract. The subalgebra of BCK/BCI-algebra using Łukasiewicz anti fuzzy set introduced by Jun is studied in this article. The concept of Łukasiewicz anti fuzzy subalgebra of a BCK/BCI-algebra is introduced, and several properties are investigated. The relationship between anti fuzzy subalgebra and Łukasiewicz anti fuzzy subalgebra is given, and the characterization of a Łukasiewicz anti fuzzy subalgebra is discussed. Conditions are found in which a Lukasiewicz anti fuzzy set is a Lukasiewicz anti fuzzy subalgebra Finally, conditions under which ⋖-subset, Υ- subset, and anti-subset become subalgebra are explored.

Abstract: n this talk I will present work in progress that aims to explore a previously uncharted area of multilingual language acquisition, which concerns negative linguistic transfer in the domain of pragmatics. The research is part of a larger program in experimental pragmatics which aims to identify points of cross-linguistic diversion that affect meaning. We investigate the impact of language variation on bilingual acquisition of grammatical number in pairs of languages like Lebanese Arabic and French, and Slovenian-Italian, in which the interpretation of plural morphology within each pair is different depending on whether the number paradigm also includes dual number or not.

Treatment strategies targeting persister cell formation in bacterial pathogens

Abstract: Persister cells are transiently antibiotic-tolerant and dormant subpopulations that are produced to escape the effects of antibiotics within biofilms or planktonic cell populations. Persister cells are of high clinical importance due to their tolerance to antimicrobial agents and subsequent failure in antibiotic treatments. Understanding persister cell formation mechanisms is therefore highly important for developing effective therapeutic strategies against pathogenic bacterial persisters. Several anti-persister compounds have been previously identified via isolation from natural resources or chemical synthesis. Furthermore, a combination of these compounds with antibiotics or non-antibiotic drugs also allows action on multiple targets while reducing the administration frequency. Here, we present a comprehensive overview of the clinical importance and formation mechanisms of persister cells as well as the current treatment strategies against persister cell formations in chronic infections.

Novel composite films from regenerated cellulose-glycerol-polyvinyl alcohol: Mechanical and barrier properties

Abstract: Cellulose is considered as an alternative for the demand of biocompatible and environmentally friendly food packaging. The aim of this study was to evaluate a composite film from regenerated cellulose combined with polyvinyl alcohol. Glycerol was used as a plasticizer. Mathematical models were used to describe the effect of the film structure on the mechanical (tensile strength, percentage of elongation at break) and barrier properties (water vapour permeability, light-barrier properties and transparency). The morphology, structural and thermal properties were evaluated by spectral analysis (FT-IR and UV-VIS-NIR), scanning electron microscopy and dif- ferential scanning calorimetry. Models predict cellulose-glycerol-polyvinyl alcohol films with tensile strength values from 25.9 to 369 MPa, similar to that of synthetic polymer films. The elongation at break of the developed films (0.89–18.7%) was lower than that of synthetic polymer films. The water vapour permeability obtained (2.32·10−11 - 3.01·10−11 g/s·m·Pa) was higher than that of petrochemical-based plastics. Cellulose films re- inforced with polyvinyl alcohol showed a smooth surface. Results showed that it is viable to accomplish com- posite films from cellulose-polyvinyl alcohol-glycerol with enhanced mechanical properties. The obtained films showed top values of transparency. The addition of glycerol resulted in films with a UV protective effect which could be important in food packaging to prevent lipid oxidative deterioration.

Neutrosophic Permeable Values and Energetic Subsets with Applications in BCK/BCI-Algebras

Abstract: The concept of a (∈, ∈)-neutrosophic ideal is introduced, and its characterizations are established. The notions of neutrosophic permeable values are introduced, and related properties are investigated. Conditions for the neutrosophic level sets to be energetic, right stable, and right vanished are discussed. Relations between neutrosophic permeable S- and I-values are considered.
