Učinki prožnih metod in pristopov v interdisciplinarnih delavnicah mednarodnega študijskega programa Medijske umetnosti in prakse
Peter Purg, 2016, published scientific conference contribution abstract

Abstract: Četudi sistem zagotavljanja kakovosti glede na trenutno veljavna merila in standarde še dopušča rigidnejše oziroma (vase) zaprte izobraževalne koncepte, nas bo v prispevku posebej zanimalo, kako se kakovostno pedagoško delo lahko razvija v okviru (in paradoksu) mednarodne mobilnosti ter projektno-razvojne naravnanosti študijskega programa, oziroma šole.

Under All the Hats of Quality : Balancing roles and responsibilities in academic quality assurance - as (high) quality teacher, scientist/artist, institutional coordinator, curriculum creator, peer evaluator ...
Peter Purg, 2016, published scientific conference contribution abstract

Abstract: The round table highlighted specific individual views on current trends and standards of academic quality in terms of (at least) three key roles in the study process: the coordinator, author / performer, peer evaluator... Participants confronted (often incompatible) views on these roles in terms of the quality of everyday academic practice, which on the one hand, introduces increasingly stringent and detailed standards and criteria - yet on the other rarely motivates academic staff to (consciously) achievement or development them! The round table attempted to find and compare the best practices of the criteria of transferring quality criteria into everyday practice of teaching, research and development -- thereby to identify the key points in common best practices for strategic planning of the quality system design at the level of school, programme, course, and last but not least the individual academic career.

Removal of manganese in batch and fluidized bed systems using beads of zeolite a as adsorbent
Mina Jovanovic, Iztok Arčon, Janez Kovač, Nataša Novak Tušar, Bojana Obradovic, Nevenka Rajić, 2016, original scientific article

Abstract: In this study the uptake capacity of Mn(II) ions by zeolite A beads was investigated for different initial Mn concentration (100e400 mg Mn dm^-3) in batch mode at 25e55 C. The obtained adsorption capacity varying from 30 to 50 mg Mn g^-1 demonstrated a high affinity of zeolite A towards Mn(II) present in solutions. Kinetic studies indicated the intra-particle diffusion as the rate limiting step up to 45 C with apparent diffusivities in the range (1.2e2.0) x 10^-13 m2 s^-1 and the activation energy of 21.9 kJ mol^-1, which implies strong interactions between the zeolite A and Mn ions. At 55 C ion-exchange became the rate limiting step. The adsorption isotherms were studied at 25 C showing that the Mn adsorption is the best described by the Langmuir model suggesting a homogenous zeolite surface. XPS analysis of the Mnloaded beads showed that there is no surface accumulation of Mn but an almost uniform Mn distribution inside zeolite A, whereas XANES and EXAFS suggested that the adsorption of Mn(II) was followed by the Mn(II) oxidation and oxide formation. Regeneration of the spent zeolite was examined in 8 adsorption/desorption cycles by a chelating Na2EDTA in a fluidized column. It has been found that zeolite A beads could be reused for at least 4 cycles with satisfactory Mn(II) adsorption efficiencies of about 70%.

The Problem of Interpreting and Receiving Prešeren's Poem To the Poet
Zoran Božič, 2014, original scientific article

Abstract: The poem To the Poet represents one of the pinnacles of Prešeren's artistic expression, however, numerous interpreters had difficulties with its extreme pessimism. In accordance with the belief that one should first and foremost recognise “the sharp-sighted eagle” in the first national poet, interpreters tried to revaluate this pessimism with the cult of poetic mission. Empirical reception test demonstrated that the structure of the poem actually enables diverse, even completely illogical understandings of rhetorical questions, most probably on account of psychological influence of negation.

The Baptism at the Savica by France Prešeren as a Successful Attempt to Outwit Censorship: a Romantic Confession of a Defeated Person, a Member of an Unfree Nation
Zoran Božič, 2014, original scientific article

Abstract: Baptism at the Savica, an epic about the loss of Slovenian independence, can also be understood as a successful attempt by France Prešeren to outwit censors and use the form of a historic tale as a metaphor for expressing the content which, due to censorship, had to be omitted from his elegy Dem Andenken des Matthias Čop. Such an approach can help us resolve several apparent contradictions, shown in the interpretative history of the Baptism, such as the problem of Prešeren’s own characterisation of the poem in his letter to Čelakovský, or the question of Črtomir’s conversion at the end of the third part of this epic poem.In the 20th century, several interpretations came into being that understood Črtomir’s conversion to Christianity as an inevitable choice made by Slovenians in favour of a stronger, uniquely prospective Western culture circle, which serves as justification for Črtomir’s renunciation of freedom-loving Slovenianhood. According to the new understanding of The Baptism at the Savica, there are two Črtomirs, one is the hero and the other is the defeated one (the former, as he himself would like to be, is only an illusion by Prešeren, and the latter, as he indeed is, is the one with whom the poet completely identifies himself), and the final message of the epic poem is understood as a condemnation of national inequality.

Abstract: Razprava v povezavi s šolskim izborom Prešernovih pesmi obravnava problem vrednotenja Prešernovih pesmi. Sodobna didaktika književnosti pri izboru leposlovnih besedil v srednješolskih berilih priporoča predvsem upoštevanje recepcijskega in literarnozgodovinskega načela. Raziskava vrednotenjskih meril treh vodilnih prešernoslovcev druge polovice 20. stoletja prinaša spoznanje, da kljub temu, da med njimi obstajajo tudi pomembne razlike, literarni zgodovinarji najviše vrednotijo predvsem formalno zapletene in recepcijsko zahtevne pesmi iz osrednjega obdobja Prešernove romantike. Čeprav se tudi pri dijakih pozna vpliv literarnozgodovinskega načela, ti najviše vrednotijo formalno preprostejše in recepcijsko manj zahtevne Prešernove pesmi, predvsem tiste, ki imajo zgodbo, so laže razumljive in omogočajo polno doživljanje.
