Predvsem sem se posvetila vprašanju, kako žensko v tujem okolju določa njena spolna identiteta. V feministični teoriji fenomen in koncept migrantstva predstavlja pozicijo, ki ženskam ponuja možnost, da lahko nadzorujejo lastno življenje in usodo in o njiju več ne odloča patriarhalni družbeni red. Ob prebiranju romanov, ki so predmet moje raziskave, sem ugotovila, da močno izstopa problem ženske identitete in v večini primerov je v ospredju lik tujke in šele nato lik umetnice. Analiza zaobjema naslednje romane: Posebne nežnosti (1990) Marjete Novak Kajzer; Moreno (2003) in Smrt slovenske primadone (2007) Brine Svit ter Sobo gospe Bernarde (2007) in Ino (2011) Cvetke Bevc. Title:	A Portrait of the Artist – Migrant – Female migrants in the novels by Brina Svit, Cvetka Bevc and Marjeta Novak Kajzer
Abstract:	The Master's thesis focuses on analysing artist portraits in Slovenian novels written by three authors, namely Brina Svit, Cvetka Bevc and Marjeta Novak Kajzer. The research question focuses on how a woman is defined in a foreign environment by her sexual identity. Within the feminist theory, the phenomenon and the concept of female migrancy give women a chance to take their lives and destiny into their own hands, rather than being subdued to a patriarchal society. While examining the relevant literature, the question of female identity was the predominant issue, mainly focusing on the characters as foreigners and only later as artists. The analysis is based on the following novels: Posebne nežnosti– Special Tenderness (1990) by Marjeta Novak Kajzer; Moreno - Moreno (2003) and Smrt slovenske primadone – The Death of a Slovenian Prima Donna (2007) by Brina Svit, and Soba gospe Bernarde – Madame Bernarda's Room (2007) and Ino – Ino (2011) by Cvetka Bevc.
