Abstract:Moje delo je zajemalo raziskovanje arheološkega najdišča Mediana kot razkošnega predmestja antičnega Naisa. Osrednji prostor zavzema vilo s peristilom, nimfej, terme in žitnico. Začetne raziskave o Mediani so povezane s Feliksom Kanicom. Medianske zgradbe so tuji roparji in osvajalci večkrat poškodovali. Mozaiki so dobro ohranjeni, vidne so plošče z različnimi vzorci, listi in cvetovi.

Title:THE ROLE AND SIGNIFICANCE OF THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE OF MEDIANA DURING THE REIGN OF EMPEROR CONSTANTINE THE GREAT
Abstract:My work covered the archeological site of Mediana as a luxurious suburb of ancient Nais. The position of Mediana is known based on previous research. The central space is occupied by a villa with a peristyle, a nymphaeum, thermal baths and a granary. Initial research at Mediana is associated with Feliks Kanic. A villa with a peristyle, i.e. the luxury villa, is best explored, preserved and accessible to visitors to date. The fact is that Mediana was created during the economic development of ancient Nais, when it became an important military and political center. Constantine the Great (306–337) can be said to have contributed to social and economical, as well as cultural prosperity. Mediana buildings were repeatedly damaged by robbers and conquerors. The thermal baths complex was discovered in 1932, and work continued in 1962–1969. The villa was lavishly decorated, as evidenced by the remains of columns, basins and marble capitals. The mosaics are well preserved and panels with various designs, leaves, and flowers can be seen.
