To razpravo smo želeli osvetliti z eksperimentalnimi podatki.

Title:On the direction of cliticization of Slovenian clitics
Abstract:Sentential clitics in Slovenian are usually taken as cliticizing by default to the preceding word as enclitics, but there is some disagreement on this point in the linguistic literature. We aimed to shed light on this debate with experimental data. In our experiment, we added short beeps in different places of sentences read with neutral intonation and without obvious pauses. Participants had to say where they heard the beeps. They usually did not hear the beeps where they were placed, but perceived them at prosodic boundaries, especially larger prosodic boundaries. In regular sentences without larger prosodic boundaries, they perceived beeps more often before the clitic cluster than after it, indicating that speakers sense the presence of a greater prosodic boundary preceding the clitics than following them, and that clitics are perceived by default as attaching as proclitics to the following word, not as enclitics to the preceding word.
